Walking on Sunshine

Mary O’Driscoll OP – Catherine of Siena – 2009/050

The Back of the Book: St Catherine of Siena, mystic, doctor of the Church, patron of Italy and of Europe has always been considered one of the great women of the Church.  In her life she strove to love God above all and help her neighbour, whether this meant caring for a leper of reprimanding a pope.  This new text gives a brief biography and an introduction to Catherine’s writings and theology.

Why (and how) I got this book: I’m looking at choosing a Confirmation Name so I bought several Saints’ Lives booklets at Pauline Books & Media at the weekend.  I chose Catherine of Siena because ‘Laura Catherine’ sounds nice and she’s a ‘big name’ Saint.

NotJustLaura’s Review: This was a quick read, as one would expect from CTS.  Catherine was very different to me though and isn’t who I’m looking for at this time.
